In this magic lantern show, Lichtbende takes you back almost a hundred years: the Interbellum, or the period between the First and Second World Wars.
Tutu is above all a feast for the eyes and ears. With her red shoes, a young girl dances through all kinds of styles from that period. From her first dance steps, you follow the happy but also sad moments of her life in a time of great changes. From tango to tap dance, from variety to ballroom, from classical to Bauhaus ballet. The dance, which was then influenced by personal desire for freedom, mechanization and other cultures, reflects her life.
Lichtbende takes you along in a wonderful and rhythmic dance story, projected by magic lanterns onto a gigantic screen. The projection images are made with a disarming desire to discover from everyday objects and materials that are manipulated manually and mechanically. The players, two for the projections and two for the music, stand in front of the screen with their impressive row of projectors, magic lanterns and instruments, so that you can hear and see everything they do. Not to be missed
TUTU is a family performance without spoken word for everyone from 6 to 106. The performance is followed by a short demonstration of the magic lantern.
