Especially for the ‘Winter Stories’ weekend of 21 and 22 December 2013, Lichtbende created a stage-filling mechanical magic lantern show with projections on the giant 16-9m screen.
On the stage of the main hall were a jumble of old magic lanterns projecting mechanically driven winter scenes. A slow-moving landscape of translucent plastics and ice crystals, in the frozen pond a solitary skating bird, mysterious Northern Lights reflected among strange creatures…

Installation with mechanically moving objects in old projectors. A magical landscape with animals and plants made of surprising materials. Overhead projectors project a slow-moving full-screen landscape of transparent plastics. Magic lanterns light up strange creatures, scenes are created by alternating on and off. Mirrored water-reflections and shadow trees turn this into a little story in which visitors can dream away.
